Weeki-Wachee/Brooksville/Spring Hill, Florida:   A sole “Polio in Gaza” protester in Hernando County, Brian Moore, was given two bottles of cold water by Four Muslim women who stopped their car on a hot and busy U.S. Highway 19, in Spring Hill, Saturday. afternoon.

Scores of passing cars honked their horns in mutual concern as well.  They appeared to agree with the protester’s sign, “Polio now in Gaza puts 650,000 children at-risk” as he turned his sign in the multiple directions of close to 1,000 passing cars.

Hundreds of cars pass by corner of U.S. Highway 19 & Applegate Dr, Spring Hill, as Moore takes picture while holding sign. Picture taken around 2:00 PM.

Four Muslim women with turban head bands and face masks gestured Moore to come to their idling car on the side of U.S. Highway 19. The masked women gave him two chilled bottles of water and expressing words of gratitude for his public concern and support.

The four ladies allowed their pictures to be taken (see blog) while in their car, with several women partially covering their heads and two young women totally hiding their faces.

Moore said the entire afternoon "was satisfying" to see such concern from both Muslim and American citizens. He was especially impressed from the surprising actions of the courageous Muslim women who put aside their "culture of silence" and approached an unknown male on the highway.
