Brian's published letter to The Tampa Bay Times on Sunday, May 18th, 2025, rejoices over the New Pope's Peruvian citizenship and American upbringing; plus, his affinity toward migrants, the poor and world peace.

Brian also criticizes the silence of U.S. Catholic Bishops and the Catholic faithful's lack of support for immigrants in the United States. Brian hopes that the American-born Pope will change President Trump's cruel and expansive expulsion of immigrants.
