Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Brian Patrick Moore's response to Tampa Bay Times article of July 25, 2025, "Wander Franco's legal team will appeal , seek acquittal, his lawyer says," by Marc Topkin and Juan Carlos Chavez
The Rays organization and MLB suspended Wander Franco before he was convicted by a court of law.
They abandoned him by denying him the right of "innocent until proven guilty." And the Tampa Bay Times neglected their duty as a media forum in seeking the truth.
Now convicted, Wander still has the right to appeal, to overthrow the conviction.
He should still be playing professional baseball. There will be no "guilty of moral turpitude" if the Appeals Court or the Dominican Republic Supreme Court declare his innocence through lack of evidence. Even a United States Visa then could not be denied Franco for returning to America. He should not have ever left!
The Rays and MLB are now liable for abandoning him 24 months ago!
I urge Yandy Diaz, Jose Caballero, Jorge Aranda, Junior Caminero, Edwin Uceta and Brandon and Josh Lowe, among others, to speak out for Wander. Defend his rights and how he has been abandoned by the Rays and Major League Baseball. The same could happen to any of the Rays ballplayers for any of their own personal actions.
Speak up and speak out, Rays players!: "Become another courageous Lou Brock of the 21st century to major league baseball!"
